As with everything that ships from Bluetti, the PV420 also came double boxed in extremely sturdy cartons, complete with an abundance of protective packaging.

Once out of the box, Bluetti's commitment to quality was immediately apparent. The well-designed and crafted panel exceeded my expectations, as did its size. It's a beast of a panel designed to capture as much sun as possible.

The adjustable metal stands are a great addition and offer a sturdy support solution to the sizable panel that keeps getting bigger as you unfold it! That said, given its overall dimensions, I would have preferred to see a fourth stand - one for each of the panel segments - but nevertheless, the three that are there do offer adequate stability. Bluetti have also included perimeter eyelets should you wish to hang the panel.

The angle adjustment process is simple and effective, with sturdy press studs to secure the stand in the desired position.

The included three-metre lead is very handy, and the PV420's is quite thick, suggesting a quality, heavy duty cable, which terminates with the industry standard MC4 connectors, making a connection to your Bluetti Power Station extremely quick and simple.

I have so far tested the panel's generation efficiency with the AC200P, producing an impressive 380 watts in weak winter sun.

The PV420 offers an excellent charging option for Bluetti's larger Power Stations, and as an added bonus, it's also compatible with the recently released AC180.

Once folded, the PV420 is easily carried with its sturdy and comfortable rubber handles, making for an ideal portable charging solution, but with the size and performance of a much heavier fixed panel.

This arrived at a perfect time to charge my Bluetti AP200 power bank which was on 2%. We are in winter and I am in a little Valley so don't get sun after 2.30pm. My panels arrived at midday and I immediately started charging. By 2.30pm my powerbank was at 50%. The next morning there was morning fog which lasted all morning. I was able to charge the power bank for a shorter period in the afternoon but it still brought it up to 90%. I am really pleased with these solar panels and the way the four panels fold up together with a protective backing and a carry handle. I am short 5ft 1in but I am able to lift these enough to carry them in and out of the house.

The panels just feel solid and well made. Stands are great, plug in to the solar generator are foolproof and it’s been pulling upwards of 370 watts in autumn sunlight. I’ve been running my pc setup just with the panel during the day and it’s awesome.
