Frequently Asked Questions
-
- Q1: What is a solar panel?
- A1: A solar panel captures sunlight and converts it into electricity. BLUETTI panels use high-efficiency monocrystalline cells to make the most of every ray—delivering reliable power wherever there's sun.
- Q2: Are BLUETTI solar panels waterproof?
- A2: Yes. IP65 is rated for junction box. Do not expose the solar panel to rain or snow.
- Q3: Can BLUETTI solar panels charge third-party power stations?
- A3: Yes, as long as they have MC4 connectors and match the panel's voltage and current range.
- Q4: Can different types of solar panels be used together?
- A4: No. Only use the same model of solar panels within one system. For example, charging a BLUETTI AC180 with 2× SP120 panels works perfectly. Mixing different models—like 1× SP120 and 1× PV60F —is not recommended and may cause system issues.
- Q5: Can BLUETTI solar panels be connected in series or parallel?
- A5: Yes. BLUETTI panels support both. Please note that series connection increases voltage while parallel connection increases current. Always match the total output to your power station's input limits.
- Q6: How many panels can be connected to a BLUETTI power station?
-
A6:
It depends on your model's input limits, panel specs, and wiring method. For example, the AC200L accepts up to 1,200W solar input, with an input voltage range of 12V to 145V and a maximum current of 15A.
If you use 350W solar panels with an open-circuit voltage (Voc) of 43.8V and a short-circuit current (Isc) of 10.1A, wiring these panels in series is best to maximize charging efficiency. Series connection increases voltage while current stays about the same.
Calculating the max number of panels:
145V ÷ 43.8V ≈ 3 panels in series (total voltage 131.4V, below the 145V limit)
Current stays at 10.1A (below the 15A limit)
Total power: 3 × 350W = 1,050W (below the 1,200W max input)
So, you can safely connect up to three 350W panels in series to the AC200L.
- Q7: How to maximize solar panel efficiency?
- It depends on what you plug in. Running a 100W light? Around 10 hours. A 500W blender? About 2 hours. With solar panels, you can keep topping it off during the day.
- Q8: Can BLUETTI power stations be charged with solar and AC power simultaneously?
- A8: Yes. Many BLUETTI models allow dual input. For example, Elite 200 V2 supports up to 2400W combined input, charging up to 80% in just 1 hour.
- Q9: Do solar panels work at night?
- A9: No, they need sunlight. But you can store energy in your power station during the day and use it anytime—even after dark.
